Detective Kathy Baker is back to help solve another case. She has been called in to help with a school shooting that struck a little too close to home: a school she attended for four years. Right away, an already nervous Kathy is thrown into a world very different from the one she's used to. Faced with the trouble of a difficult boss and a little experienced partner, she does what she can to solve the case. It quickly becomes clear that this shooting is nothing like the ones she's heard of. The kill pattern is off, the way the kids are set up is too strange to be that of a random shooting, and the disturbing mixed signatures only add up to throw Kathy off her usual groove of a case. And no matter what she does, she faces the constant fear, the constant nagging thought in the back of her mind, that one of the teachers, the janitors, or a fellow officer is a cold-blooded killer. The fear of betrayal affects Kathy's ability to solve the case on one solid path. Will she be able to work through it in time to find and convict the guilty killer?
