The sun-swept badlands of New Mexico Territory don't seem like heaven on earth to Skye Fargo. But nevertheless, some pioneers have set their sights on it…and it looks like there's going to be trouble in Paradise Valley, thanks to the local tribes who have a bleached bone to pick with anyone stupid enough to lay claim to their land.
 
When Fargo rescues a party of travelers bound for the settlement, he finds himself in a battle from the saddle against some of the deadliest warriors in the territory. And when he reaches the pioneers' promised land, he's going to have to go through hell to get out alive…
