Nurse Katie Norris can't help being attracted to young Dr. Paul Banks, the head of the San Francisco hospital where she works. He's demanding, he's moody, he's cold, he's unpredictable, but he's also a very fine doctor and a most intriguing man.

When Dr. Banks asks Katie to give up her hospital job and become a private nurse for his father, who's had a stroke, Katie agrees. In time a romance develops between the young nurse and Paul Banks.
