Nurse in Charge // Staff Nurse at St. Laura's

When Jane was put temporarily in charge of Rossiter Ward, the doctors thought she was too young and she set out to prove them wrong! Overnight Jane Scott's life changed dramatically. Yesterday she's been a staff nurse without worry, ambition or a man. Today, she had the responsibility of a large ward, the ambition to run it well and not incur the disapproval of Mr. Crawford the senior surgeon who'd suggested she was too young for the job. Also the attentions of the RSO and two women who were jealous and could make life uncomfortable. It all seemed too much and she wanted Mr. Crawford's good opinion and not just of her nursing ability.
