Bella and her little brother Louie are out walking Bella's dog Pepper, when they find a ‘mud monster' stuck in a ditch!

When they realise it's no monster but a dog in distress, they bring it back to the Dream Dogs grooming parlour and discover what's under all that mud…

…a beautiful golden retriever!

They name her Nugget and although Bella puts up missing dog posters, no one claims her. To their surprise and delight Nugget gives birth to a litter of puppies and Bella takes charge of finding homes for all of them.

But when a shady character comes to the parlour claiming that Nugget and the puppies are his, will Bella be able to stop the cruel puppy-breeder from taking them away?
