About This Book

Henry James O'Brien Bedford-Jones (1887-1949), who also wrote under the pseudonyms Michael Gallister, Allan Hawkwood, Gordon Keyne and John Wycliffe, was a Canadian historical adventure fantasy and science fiction writer who became a naturalized United States citizen in 1908. He wrote over 100 novels. His works appeared in a number of pulp magazines including: The Magic Carpet, Golden Fleece, All-Story Weekly, Argosy, Blue Book and Weird Tales. His works include: The Cross and the Hammer (1912), The Conquest (1914), Nuala O'Malley (1917), The Black Fox of Yukon (1917), Irregular Brethren (1919), The Fiction Business (1922), Against the Tide (1924), The Second Mate (1925), Saint Michael's Gold (1926), The King's Passport (1928), The Shadow (1930), The Graduate Fictioneer (1932) and The Mission and the Man: The Story of San Juan Capistrano (1939).
