Kate Manion is your average burned-out critical care nurse. Kate admits that she's a dinosaur, since in an age when medicine means big money, she still battles to put patient care first.

Injured in an accident, Kate wakes up in the intensive care unit in the worst possible place-the hospital where she works, dubbed "St. Serious Money" That's bad enough, but then her very own nurse, Attila the Buns, falls over dead with Kate's hands wrapped around her throat.
