About This Book

"You can't waste the truth on people who won't understand."

At least, that's what Ant MacPherson thinks. How could she possibly tell her parents the truth all of the time? They never understand anything! The only member of her family Ant even admits to being related to is her little dog, Pistachio. She writes letters in her journal to her "real mom" and tells people at school that she's adopted. Ant even manages to lie to her parents about her report cards—leading them to believe that she gets Cs and Ds, when she really gets As and Bs. But when a concerned teacher sees the truth about Ant and her lies, it seems that Ant may be in for a big change....
