It always sounds way glamorous when I tell people that I'm from Miami. But Miami's not all sunshine and hotties. It's endless zip codes and mega high schools where it's easy to get lost...

Not that I'd ever let that happen to me. No way. Ever since my mom died, I've made sure to keep my world safe. Yeah, I had no boyfriend (ha!), an increasingly MIA best friend, and a dad who couldn't pick me out of a lineup to save his life, but I was okay.

Then I met Danny Diaz. His milk-chocolate skin alone is enough to make me ache.
