About This Book

United States Attorney Graham Nelson's nomination to be Assistant Attorney General is jeorpardized when he is forced to acknowledge the existance of an illigitimate son, David Shepard, who has been charged with possession and sale of drugs. As attorney Andrew White and his high-tech investigator, Horse McGee investigate the charges against Shepard they uncover an apparent conspiracy to frame Shepard as a means of forcing the President to withdraw Nelson's nomination. The investigation takes a sudden turn when murder of Shepard's co-defendant is traced to a gun owned by Graham Nelson and White uncovers a seemingly unrelated conspiracy to bribe federal prosecutors and judges. .With the help of his formerclient, drug-lord Manuel Rodrigues, White enters the underworld of drug dealers as he follows a trail of seemingly random leads. The mysterious death of a key suspect, and death threats against White and his girlfriend, Leslie Halloran, foreshadow the revealation of corruption in the highest levels of government and a surprise ending that proves that nothing is as it seems. .
