No Morning Dew

Walter Higgins, retired state legislator, is playing his song, No Morning Dew, to calm his cows during a big storm when he is shot and killed. The killer leaves a suicide note, but Bishop Bone and his friend, the police chief, who asks him to answer the call with him, don't agree. Upsetting the widow, Emma, the media reports the death as a suicide. Emma has a "vision" that Bishop will find who killed her husband. Bishop reluctantly agrees and begins to find suspects from Walter's legislator days, his younger days and his retirement days, and feeding out cows for the market. Bishop soon finds himself under fire and has to step around to stay alive.
