Samantha Hill hasn't had much time for extracurricular activities during the first half of her sophomore year at Hawthorne College. But now that her toughest semester is over, Sam has a lot of spare time and nothing to do. So when her roommates suggest she apply for a reporting job with the school newspaper, she jumps at the chance.

Sam is assigned to the sports beat, and she's less than thrilled—until she meets Scott O'Connor, handsome star of the Hawthorne basketball team. Suddenly her interest in sports reaches new heights. Scott seems like the perfect guy for Sam. He's caring, dedicated, and polite.
