Night on the Mountain

Caroline Porter had been both broken-hearted and utterly shattered by her beloved brother Jeremy's tragic death in a climbing accident. She was worried, too. The whole thing seemed so unlike Jeremy - and when she began to piece together all the details, Caroline found herself far from happy about the part played in it all by Nicholas Cleator, who had been with Jeremy at the time. So she went up to the Lake District, under an assumed name, to see what she could find out. The first thing she learned was that Nicholas was far too attractive for her peace of mind. The second was that he was also heavily involved with his 'dark lady' - the glamorous and mysterious Marie Brough, who in spite of being married seemed to take up a great deal of his time and interest. And still Caroline could not get to the bottom of that climbing accident . . . .
