About This Book

With Alex Stone leading his quick response unit in the clandestine operations against high-tech, international terrorism and Doc Martini conducting his own investigations into domestic crime, this intense but panoramic novel moves rapidly across continents into the intrigues and shadows of the darkest currents swirling through modern life. Drawing upon over thirty years in federal and state law enforcement as well as the history of ancient transgressions and reprisals, Larry Bergsgaard takes us into lives and dramas we suspect are there, but rarely glimpse until they have become the news stories of our day. In the best tradition of Sjöwall and Wahlöö, Bergsgaard offers us not only very real and engaging characters, but very insightful and current commentary on political and social conflicts we ignore at our own peril. For any reader concerned that all of the great crime procedurals have been written, a welcome surprise awaits you in the opening pages of Next Year in Jerusalem.

Larry D. Bergsgaard retired after nearly thirty years in law enforcement where he served as a Special Agent with the United States Department of Treasury and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. Mr. Bergsgaard is married to his lovely and faithful wife, Donna. They have two adult daughters, Anne and Kate. The Bergsgaards spend summers in Northern Minnesota at their lake home and glorious winters in Southern Arizona. Mr. Bergsgaard is the author of four novels and several short stories.
