New Year's Diary #1

My name is Meredith Scott. Ten years ago I made the biggest mistake of my life when I got married to a man who I thought I loved. On January 1st, 2014, the relationship that had been dying for years finally ended. I am not sad that it is over. I feel like I have been given a second chance. My New Year's Resolution is to experience all the fun and excitement that I missed out on in my early twenties because I was in a relationship.

I've committed to taking one year off to… hum, I almost wrote "find myself" right there. I always hated that expression, but it sounds better than "sleep around" or "whore it up", so I guess I'm stuck with it. Anyway, I decided to write and publish a diary while on my journey. I figured, why not arouse and amuse some random people who I have never met during the process?

This first diary entry is about how I came to the decision that set this project in motion. It covers the first week of January 2014.
