Stephanie is about to get married to someone who swept her off her feet in college. However, once the music starts playing she realizes that if she goes through with it, she'll be making the biggest mistake in her life. Derrick calls himself a Christian, but he is more interested in what his family's money can buy than his faith. So she changes her mind and leaves the church with her old high school best friend Alyssa. Her parents are furious, but there are a couple of people—her best friend Alyssa and her high school crush Brandon Walker—who understand. Alyssa saves her from messing up her life, and Brandon becomes her sounding board. They used to hang out together as friends before she left for college, and now they see each other in a completely different light. Will they remain friends, or will romance take over?
