As a child, Peggy Shilling dreamed of fairy godmothers, magic wands and handsome princes. But as an adult, she never dreamed she'd be courted by the man some claimed was the closest one could come to Chicago royalty.

But there was no doubt about the limousine outside her apartment, the chauffeur holding open the door or princely Mike Kendrick holding court in the back seat.

Was the handsome heir nothing more than a fairy-tale lover, the limo nothing more than a magical pumpkin? Or was this the happily ever after the fairy godmother had promised?
