Andrea Brookes is devoted to her career as a recruitment consultant but deep down admits her life is missing something and is a lonely one.  After her older sister's disappearance her brother in law comes to rely on her for support and when her older brother announces his engagement she begins to accept that her strict moral code acts as a barrier. For this thirty year old virgin, relationships up until now have been a no go.  Giving a talk to a group of teenagers about finding work she encounters her nephews' form tutor Sam Towton. 

In his forties Sam has waited patiently for the woman of his dreams only to find her in his classroom and is determined to win her heart. Old fashioned in his outlook and a technophobe, Sam is shocked to the core by his reaction to Andrea.  He realizes early that she completes him and hopes of a future with her.  Her innocence means he needs to slow down.  On their first evening together he discovers they share so many things in common and is pleasantly surprised to find she shares her home with an unusual pet…a free range behemoth bunny.

Andrea however has been keeping something from Sam an upcoming assignment means she will have to travel to the other side of the world for a period of time.  During a weekend away on a canal boat, she is honest with him and they seal their relationship by making love.  

During their time apart Andrea seeks to find her true career path wondering if she really can have it all. Love, a family and a career.
