Retired Seattle PD detective Zach Roper is, at age 50, new to the professional golf Champions Tour, but no stranger to crime. He's pursuing his boyhood dream of pro stardom with single-minded devotion but limited success when a body turns up deep in the piney rough on treacherous number four of the Iron Ridge Country Club Black Course in the north woods of Minnesota. Not just any old body, either, but the body of the part owner of the financially shaky operation. Is it natural causes? The local Sheriff thinks so, but Zach doesn't. He wants to concentrate on golf. This may be his last chance to make it as a pro. If he doesn't make the cut it could be the end of his new career. But he also wants to see justice done, and he doesn't think the local law is able, or willing, to do the job. Can he do both? If he spreads himself too thin he may accomplish neither.
