Carl Conley, local hot-shot Realtor, part-time mayor and small-time actor, is found dead as driftwood on the sand of Musket Beach, a tourist town on the Oregon coast.
With an ear for dialogue, a nose for trouble and a habit for murder, Tony and Pat do some sleuthing of their own. Locking horns with the local law, they find themselves caught in the intrigue of a million-dollar deal gone sour, illicit love gone bad and a desperate killer waiting to strike again.
