With the beaver trade played out up north, weren't much left for trappers like Zack McClendon and his pard Peck Overstreet 'cept trailblazing for greenhorns headed West. Guiding a wagon train of muleskinners and settlers to Santa Fe, they fought off fierce kiowas and a passel or two of outlaws. But there was trouble aplenty waitin' on them at the end of the trail and his name was Captain Damasio Salezar.

Backed by his army of ruthless lederales, the Mexican captain ruled the territory with an iron noose, killing anyone who got in his way. But when he killed some old time trapper compadres of Zack and Peck just for the fun of it, there was hell to pay. Roundin' up his own fightin' force of trailsmen with a hankering for revenge, Zack rode against the Mex killers to even up the score. Guns spittin' hot lead under the terrible desert sun, Zack's army traded shot for shot until the sand ran red with enemy blood!
