Monster

In this short story, George Mantee, a former policeman, now working as a security guard, is falsely accused of being a child pornographer. The media splashes the news, and soon his small town brands him as a sex offender. Although he is quickly and completely cleared, it is too late, the die has been cast. This pushes George into a downward spiral that he can’t escape. His house is vandalized, he loses his job, even his church shuns him. As he runs out of money, he decides to make sure that his innocence is finally front page news.
