The entertainment industry can be a cold place, and no one knows that better than Bailey Montage. She is determined to make her stunningly beautiful daughter, Mahogany, a star while protecting her from the many pitfalls of a modeling career. Bailey tries her best to teach Mahogany the importance of being professional and having self-respect. Yet, it's hard for her to lead by example. The biggest break of Mahogany's career introduced her to the love of her life, as well as the seedy unpleasant side of the industry. While Bailey battles her own demons, Mahogany is left to fend for herself. An unspeakable tragedy forces her to leave the bright lights of LA for her mother's home town of Richmond, CA. Mahogany is unprepared for her new life, but she is determined to follow her dreams. After being cast by a neighbor for a local music video, she is brought back into the limelight that she loves. Working in a completely different atmosphere, she finds herself breaking many of the rules her mother had begged her never to break. Ultimately, Mahogany must decide if she is willing to risk it all for money, fame and power.
