A bout of measles forced Jemima to replace her bedridden sister, Clarissa as the houseguest of her wealthy aunt for the Christmas season --- and no one was happy. Jemima's aunt was hardly pleased to present a Schoolroom Miss --- especially when a muddy, disheveled Jemima, dragging her Christmas spirit behind her, appeared at her door after nearly being run down on the road!

To her outrage, Jemima realized the driver of the hell-bent curricle was one of her aunt's houseguests and --- not at all impressed by his rank and fortune --- gave Lord Montague a piece of her mind, yuletide or no!

But even without mistletoe encouragement, suspicions that Lord Montague was other than the rake he appeared began to melt her icy demeanor. Soon, Jemima was drawn into a daring --- and perhaps perilous --- adventure. But she feared her growing tendre for the intriguing Montague would prove to be a hollow holiday lark.
