Missing You In Maui

Dear Journal, Today is a big day for my teammates, best friend, dance teacher and me. Today we will be competing against forty nine other states for the title of 2019 National Dance Champions! Just like at State, I will be dancing a solo, as well as dancing a group dance with my best friend and teammates. All of us have worked hard to get to Nationals. With this said, I really want us to win today! Even though it is an exciting day, it is also a sad one for me. This is the first competition that Mom will not be at. Even though I miss her like crazy every day, I miss her even more today. With this said, I am so thankful to have Daddy. Even though we have always been close and had a strong bond, we have become closer and our bond has become stronger. Helping each other through the grief over these past couple of months has strengthened our relationship. Continuing to speak of Dad, he has thankfully gotten permission to watch me do my solo and group dance from backstage. Bea has also thankfully gotten the permission to watch my solo from backstage, too. Knowing that these two will be watching me gives me a form of comfort and peace. After all, this is one of those times where I need them now more than ever.-Beverly
