Offered the chance to flee dismal London for some peace, quiet and sun, Kate Barrington leaves her editor job and sets off with alacrity. She's never heard of the island of Sifnos, but reckons if celebrity actor Marcia Gold has a holiday house there it must be okay. And it is – stunning views, great food, and the gorgeous next-door neighbour Theo Laskaris, aka Tim Firth, popular crime writer. However, things turn sour. Kate learns that, back in London, Marcia hasn't turned up for rehearsals for her current play, and seems to have totally disappeared. When Kate receives scary phone calls and suspects someone is shadowing her, she begins to think she is being mistaken for Marcia Gold. Could the celebrity be hiding somewhere on Sifnos? Kate's suspicions are confirmed when she is kidnapped in error. Does someone want to kill Marcia, and is mistaking Kate for her? And where does Theo Laskaris fit in – lover or…? Does he know more than he's telling Kate? What starts out as a relaxing holiday on a beautiful Greek island looks like turning into a stressful excursion, ending in dramatic revelations.
