In the second book of this series, Michelle Wakefield is forced to use her ability to see auras in order to save lives.
FBI agent John Ackerman offers to help the local police when an innocent girl is found murdered. Thanks to Michelle, the sniper fails in the attempt to kill Agent Ackerman. John quickly realizes that there is something exceptional about Michelle. He explains that he runs a specialized unit of the FBI and thinks her talents would make a good addition. She is considering taking the consulting job when she finds herself in the crosshairs of the dangerous suspect.
John's team arrives and immediately sets to work trying to solve the case. It quickly becomes apparent, by the severity of the murders that they are not looking for the average killer.
Michelle is excited by the idea that she may not be the freakish anomaly that she had lead herself to believe, when she learns that the team is made up of agents, each unique in their psychic ability.
The further they dig into the case the more dangerous it becomes. It is only by learning to trust in herself and her new gifted colleagues that she has any hopes of getting through this case, alive.
