For terrifying hours after the wreck Tara had been clutching a frail rubber raft on the storm-swept ocean. She lost consciousness as a final wave washed her limp body onto a rocky beach.

A man found her there, a tall silent man who lived alone on the barren island. He carried her to his hut, where he dressed her wounds and nursed her carefully back to health.
