Melonhead and the Big Stink

IT WAS AN ACCIDENT—REALLY!

And now that I've ruined one of Mrs. Wilkins's favorite garden plants, my parents have "loaned" me to her to do chores. This is really going to mess up my summer plans if I don't figure something out. Sam and I were going to find a way to get to New York City to see the titan arum "bunga bangkai" plant. It's supposed to be twelve feet tall, weigh a hundred pounds, and smell like dead mammals, plus rot, plus spoiled food. It only blooms once every seven years, and even then only for two days and then it keels over dead. It's the Big Stink of a Lifetime! But I have to get a few more good deeds out of the way first. I'm lucky that my new friend Justin, who is a lot older, seems to be a big help, so that I don't add to the Remind-O-Rama list my mom created. I guess doing chores for Mrs. Wilkins is a good start, even if it wasn't in the plan to begin with!

Yes, it's me, Melonhead. I'm back in action in my second book by Katy Kelly. I'm still filled with curiosity, stirring up a little trouble (even though I don't mean to), and determined to have a summer of fun!
