Sally Andrews was immediately suspicious when her sisters' employers, the Meadows, told her Jan had disappeared the night before. Sally had come to Australia to visit Jan, and it was not like her to go off without telling anyone.

Then Jan was found murdered, and the police suspected a member of the Meadows household. The only question was—which one? The evidence was bizarre, conflicting and, worst of all, no one seemed to have had a motive.
