Fleeing pain and misery, Rissa Young decides to quit her job and leave her Philadelphia apartment behind and head to France. Only when she arrives in France, her streak of bad luck seems to have followed, as well -- when she becomes the victim of a con game. Destitute and alone, Rissa is befriended by a young woman who convinces her to stay with her family.
