People today are already obsessed with technology and their little electronic gizmos. But in the future they invent an EGG shaped device that transmits directly into one's brain and that does all kinds of amazing things. Only people have them bolted on the top of their heads. Kurtwood Helper refuses to get an EGG resulting in serious consequences in his life. But eventually he and other people realize something is going wrong with the people who have EGGs only the people with an EGG can't tell the difference. Kurtwood is enlisted in the resistance until he discovers even those people want to keep their EGGs
