Maxim Gunn and the Leopard Legion

It started when Gunn’s old friend, the Emir of Ladi, invited him to dinner at the Dorchester. It escalated with an attack in the maze supper at Hampton Court when he and Cynthia Ffoote had a picnic; and got serious at an hotel in Kano in Northern Nigeria when someone tried to stick him with a knife.
From there on it went downhill.
Magunta, the Witch Doctor, Wizard and Master Criminal who first appears in The Chaos Project, plans to take over part of West Africa and reclaim the ancient kingdom of Songhai by resurrecting the infamous Leopard Men. Fear is his key, and the Great Black Leopard his weapon. After that the sky’s the limit.
Gunn answers the Emir’s call for help and tracks the leopard to its mountain fastness, the fabulous volcanic plug of Waziri Rock soaring 800 feet above the hot, dry plain. It is the perfect hideout: unclimbed in living memory, and with a dark and bloody history â€" until Maxim Gunn finds the way into the Leopard’s lair and the cavern inside it, and together with the Emir, he goes hunting.
But nothing is that easy as Gunn finds himself facing the Black Leopard, the real one, not the hologram, and Magunta sends his force to attack Ladi.
A bloody battle and a violent explosion that rips Waziri Rock apart brings the action to a close and provides the Emir with the means to ensure the future of his people.
