Alone and grief-stricken after the suicide of her celebrated father, Elizabeth Dalton was shattered until the phone call from biographer and family friend, Graham Waldon. Would she come to England, to Marsh House, and help him piece together the story of her father's life.

Elizabeth went, and at first the blooming hawthorn hedges of the tiny English village made her feel she was returning to a much-loved place. But her sense of deja vu turned to horror as she began to unearth strange facts: that she had, in fact, once lived at Marsh House, that her mother had died there. And the closer Elizabeth came to digging up the awful truth about her family's past, the closer she felt she was coming to her own deadly end . . . Someone was trying to kill her.
