Returning to Yewdale was no hardship for Dr. Elizabeth Allen, for she loved the place and its people. Working alongside her father at their general practice was a joy, until his health gave out and he retired. Change was unwelcome to Elizabeth, so she wasn't particularly welcoming to Dr. James Sinclair when he arrived – besides, James was a Londoner; wouldn't he find Yewdale boring and not give of his best to the patients?
