HE HAD NO LOVE TO GIVE.

Jill had married Adamandios Doxaros only to ease his ailing mother's heart; theirs was a marriage only of convenience. Or so she thought, until, by imperceptible degrees, she fell in love with her husband.

But she hid what was in her heart, for she knew he could never love her. Jill was a wife in name only, an actress in a play with a limited run, and soon, too soon, the day would come for her final curtain to fall.

For once Mrs. Doxaros was gone, no barrier would remain between Adam and the woman his mother hated -- the woman he had long ago chosen to be his bride.
