A family of convenience...

Mike Murphy and his three-year-old daughter, Emma, need a place to live. Susan Adamson needs a housemate to help pay the mortgage. The arrangement seems perfect to Mike -- and to Emma, who has already made friends with Susan's dog.

Only Susan has reservations, and they've got less to do with having a gorgeous man about the house than with the uneasy feeling that Mike and his daughter are in some kind of trouble.

But how does she tell a perfect tenant, his adorable little girl and a fuzzy kangaroo named Gerald that they're no longer welcome? Especially when the tenant is turning out to be the man of her dreams.
