Hannah Brown travels with her eight sisters to Texas to find a husband. She knows it will be harder for her than the others because she doesn't believe in God, while all her sisters do. At the matchmaking dance near Fort Worth, she meets and dances with a few gentlemen but only one man sparks her interest.Amos Kauffman attends the matchmaking dance as a host because it is being held at the church where he is the pastor.
