Magic Hour

Long Island's oh-so-fashionable beach resort of choice for everyone who is anyone. Or who was: alas, one of the premier summer residents, movie producer Sy Spencer, has hosted his last power clambake - thanks to whoever has shot him and left him dead beside his ocean-front pool.

Called in to investigate is Hamptons native Steve Brady, an ex-farm boy, ex-heroin addict, recovering alcoholic turned cop who has nothing but disdain for those with lots of money and egos to match. Topping the long list of suspects is Sy's ex-wife Bonnie, a strangely appealing woman with energy to burn both in and out of bed. As the case against Bonnie builds, so does Brady's obsession with her. Before long, he is laying the case and his career on the line for Bonnie, ignoring all the rules...all the evidence...all common sense.
