About This Book

The mysterious disappearance of a Freeforester (deer poacher) on a Scottish estate, the privacy of which is ruthlessly protected by the ‘Judge’. MacLeod attempts to find his friend and narrowly survives an assassination attempt. The estate is a safe harbour for a number of crimes including drug distribution. The ‘Judge’ sends members of staff to an outdoor centre to develop kayaking and mountaineering skills to enable drug collection from ships and ensure its safe passage through the mountains. Murder, merciless pursuit and MacLeod’s desire for revenge plunge the action through the raging and turbulent rapids of the River Spean to the treacherous ice-veneered cliffs of Ben Nevis. Hunter becomes hunted - outcomes are as unpredictable as the tenuous contacts on ice-coated cliffs and as tortuous and troubled as the foaming river rapids.
