The wormhole drive was a game changer. A six year journey between Earth and the Centauri System could be replaced by an almost instantaneous traverse through the wormhole dimension. Politics, economics and military strategy were all greatly affected.

Everyone wanted to get their hands on one of the new drives, everyone wanted to profit. And they were willing to do anything or take any chance for that profit.

But there was a dark side to the wormhole generators, an aftereffect that could not only defeat the plans of the acquisitive but destroy all life in two star systems.

Elias Mach, a young post-doc, created the mathematics of the wormhole drive and it would be up to Elias and the few that supported him to find a solution to its dire consequences before it was too late.
