About This Book

"Lying In State" is a suspense and action thriller with a philosophical bent to it. It is strictly for adults only and is not suitable for anyone under the age of twenty-one years. It is the 'Tale of Two Islands', Idyllia and Megaloman. The remote and secluded island nation of Idyllia, happens to lie on a huge reserve of gold running in humongous veins in the sanctuary located in its tribal regions. The treasure is guarded by the fierce 'Kavi Poison Bandaar'. The regional bully and superpower, the island nation of Megaloman, wages a dirty and covert war against Idyllia in a bid to usurp its natural gold deposits. Only 'Grand Officier' Koba Mfapo, Lt. General Alfred Mutombiki of the M 23 guerrilla group, the prehistoric 'Kavi' tribe of Idyllia, and two former French Foreign Legionnaires, stand in the way of the unscrupulous and ignominious Megalomans and their hideous and macabre intent. The Megaloman dirty tricks and proxy warfare techniques are met with resolute gallantry and some ingenuous war tactics by Koba, the M 23 guerrillas led by General Mutombiki, and the 'Kavis'. They are assisted by the two Frenchmen, who themselves had also been victims of the unethical, immoral, and the sadistically ruthless Megalomans and their vile and treacherous ways . It is a story of the improbable and the implausible and is told at a scorching pace. The intrigue and the suspense are intense and the mystery just deepens, compounds, and magnifies as we read on......
