In a blaze of action, Felicia moved about the room, her knife slashing efficiently until every garment I possessed lay in tatters at her feet.

"Now take off the clothes you're wearing," she commanded.

I figured she was insane but I did what she asked. I stripped down to my shorts.

"The shorts, too," she said. "And the shoes and socks."

These she destroyed without another word and, for good measure, picked up my transistor radio and smashed it on the edge of the night table.

"All you have now is yourself, David," she told me. "In the future you will wear only what I buy you -- do only what I want you to. I like you, David, and anything I like, I have to own."
