Marsha Walberg had all of the advantages growing up. She went to the best schools in Europe, studying acting, and art history. She developed a fondness for the historical aspects of powerful influential women, leading her to investigating erotic art, Geishas from Japan, Courtesans from Italy and early art of antiquity. Acting became her artistic expression. She tired of the movie business and wanted something more challenging like the stage Her love interest Jim was an old family friend, with anger management problems. Her starring role in the Doll House suffered because of continuous arguments with Jim. She found solace with a man old enough to be her father the script supervisor John Thomas.
John had settled into a routine, work, stairmaster, and TV dinners. He had great promise as a student director, and screenwriter. Hollywood swallowed him up. Lesser directors, and screenwriters had their projects produced. As they say in film, ‘it’s not what you know, it’s who you know.’ He left, dejected and settled for lesser demanding work.
Confiding in John was something Marsha looked forward too. As time progressed an unexpected alliance occurred in each other. They became a muse for each other. Her father viewed this unexpected coupling with a jaundiced eye.
Marsha has always been uncomfortable around her father. He brought her up when her mother died. They had always had a contentious relationship.
John Thomas in his spare time dreamed of climbing Mt. Everest. After an argument with Marsha, he is nowhere to be found, until Marsha receives an unexpected phone call from a woman she did not know.
