Lost

When they appeared in the dark alley, they had a fuzziness in their heads. They all were dressed the same. Black boots, black pants, black shirts. Each shirt had an insignia and name on it. A quick look reminded them of each other's names, but they hadn't a clue about the insignias. Martin's simply had a triangle and a 1 next to his name. Delia's had the symbol for sum then SC Col. Delia H. Brown. With gun fire coming closer as they stood silently, Delia said, We need to get out of here. Somewhere safe. They moved together like a military unit. That proved to be true when a low-slung car came down the street. A guy was leaning out the window, saw the five of them and fired two shots into Martin's chest. The car drove off rapidly. Martin was knocked against the building and Delia screamed. They moved closer to him, figuring he was dead. He wasn't. That sure as hell stung, he said. Everything was a mystery here. They had to find some answers.
