Lost Highway

Lost Highway has attracted a legion of admirers since its initial publication in 1998, and this 2nd edition contains an additional chapter omitted from the 1st edition and an introduction by James Lee Burke. The book depicts the epic struggle of an ordinary person living his dreams and following his passion. Lost Highway is the memoir of Sapper Reeves, a World War II veteran and talented country musician from the small town of Maxwell, WV. The story covers the events of over half a century, from his birth in a poor, coal-mining town through his travels among the back roads of Appalachia in search of recognition and respect. Along the way he experience the birth of a son and a love affair that spans the course of his adulthood.
