Matthew Draycott, a twenty-four-year-old manager of a furniture and electrical warehouse, saw an image reflected in the clouds above his mother's house. The image was of a boat sailing on the canal. He was about to travel to Jersey on a boat, and he wondered whether the image was an omen warning him not to travel.
