About This Book

I am an architect, an unemployed architect. I am also the nephew of a man imprisoned by the Beijing authorities for drug smuggling. Knowing he was innocent, I decided to go to him. Unfortunately, with very little money, I was forced to trek there on foot.

I started off in France and went on to Switzerland, Austria, Burgenland. Hungary, Rumania, Georgia, Azerbaijan and the Caspian Sea, Turkemenistan, Uzbekistan, Tadzikistan and then into China. Burgenland?

Where in Heaven’s name is Burgenland in Europe?

However, despite the toll on my body and my weary bones, I never believed I would be involved in the lives of so many people, starting off with a young woman who wanted me to shoot her father, continuing with a whole series of stories relating to ghosts, personal details of a father and a daughter in relation to money, a millionaire trying to find someone to marry his obese ugly daughters, meeting a man who had murdered all of his six wives, becoming a pirate after which I was arrested by Customs Officers, and becoming involved with a war lord in China who wanted to take over the country.

All this happened without any money and it meant that I had to find food and accommodation for free… not a simple task to effect.

This is a fantastic tale of resilience and determination which will fascinate readers.
