Lonely is the Valley

Ceri Owen has all the passionate love of her Celtic ancestors for Tronfydd, - her home high up in the Welsh valley. She is accustomed to life in the small community and expects to marry her childhood friend and hero. But then her life takes an unexpected turn. After her grandfather's death she finds herself agreeing to a business arrangement with Mark Mackay, a newcomer to the area whom Ceri does not trust an inch. Yet she agrees to the deal which involves being married to the shrewd Scot for a year!
When they move from her home to Mark's farm in Scotland, Ceri finds that her sheltered upbringing in Wales has not prepared her for the deviousness of which some people are capable. She is quickly accepted both by the dour farm manager and Mark's farming friends and neighbours, yet her popularity does not seem to please her husband.
