Lone Jack Kid

The long running Broadway play is over and all Charlie wants to do now is to ride the back trails of the old abandoned Butterfield Stage route west. He longs for the freedom he used to have, which has been denied him for the past year because of his commitment to Ned Buntline's show based on his best selling dime novel "The Adventures of The Lone Jack Kid." Charlie's freedom on the trail is short lived when three bushwhackers surprise him in camp while he's asleep. They shoot him, and believing they killed him they take his money and leave him for dead. Charlie recovers with the help of an unlikely ally and together they track the men west to El Paso. On his journey west Charlie raises some interesting questions. Under what circumstances does he become a United States Marshal? Why does he befriends a wounded indian? And why is he summoned to the White House by Ulysses S. Grant the President of United States. What does the President want with Charlie?
